I got an A+ Lesson 3

  1. Informational, Narrative and General are the practices that I would show a 4th grader needing help with comprehension skills.
  2. I would recommend "Writing Skills For the Workplace" to show them the fundamentals of writing and preparing documents and being organized.
  3. I found - "Becoming A Nurse" and "Becoming a Healthcare Professional". Lots of nursing information.
  4. Common Core ConnA 6th grade class would use the Math Skill Improvement - Data Analysis and Probability Practice to introduce, practice and test their skills. The explanation of the problem as they go is an added bonus!   CCSS.Math.Content.6.SP.A.1

Week 2

Chilton
  1. I would be able to show my neighbor the "Chilton" web site. We would enter in the info of their Jeep. Using the prompts on the left side you are able to narrow your search to Steering, Steering Wheel then on the main page select "removal and installation". You are able to click on relating videos and animations/tech tips. The one I would choose would be "Removal of the steering wheel and clock spring"
  2. Unable to find the info. Kept circling me back to VIN number. Is that what you wanted?
  3. Students will choose automobiles for single and different size families. They will need to look at safety, recalls, service schedule, cost and insurance. They would report and discuss their findings in groups.
Mango
  1. The student would be able to type in Vietnamese and Mango would translate to English. We would be able to type to them in English and they would read the Vietnamese.
  2. Students who are reading/studying in a different language would be able to use this site if they are having problems translating the text they are reading. I had problems finding common core info on foreign languages...

Adventure Number 1!

  1. The maps are easy to use and have a lot of information that the students can use when studying different countries. They also have information about the countries flag. I also like the quick and easy science projects that are available. This site is very easy to use.
  2. Behind the Headlines in World Book I was able to click within the report that would take me to a "special report" or article that contained in depth information about subjects mentioned in the report. The tags also offer easy ways to find information with a click of a button!(Now just to get the students to click that button!)
  3. For teachers to be able to click on the content standard to view was so helpful. I also like the fact that the text can be read to you. The websites you can visit relating to the book or author are an added bonus for viewing different images or information.
  4. The way the visual dictionary breaks down the parts of science makes is nice for the visual learners! The time line is wonderful! I like the atlas for the all information it gives on the country you are studying. The help with organizing research is nice! The World Book Explains videos are fun to add to the subject being study.
